A study into managing the overabundance of available data.
There is so much competing information to be searched and queried that users do not know which sources to trust. This problem affects nearly anyone: Students, Businesses, Researchers, and Government Personnel. This lack of trust often leads them to either disregard much of it or continually use the same potentially unreliable sources. We hypothesize that CBR in concert with a series of classification methods and XAI methods will help us address this issue by assessing the quality of a source and then helping the user to build trust in other systems. We plan to investigate this approach via a research paper and a small-scale prototype system to evaluate a few example knowledge providers as a method for explaining whether the knowledge handed out by the knowledge providers is of quality and should be trusted. The combination of CBR and XAI methods are novel approaches that have not been done before and we hypothesize that they have the best chance of addressing the issue and building trust throughout the life of a potential system. The result of our investigation is stated in this research paper and the code repositories along with the experimental design is also added, which, can be used for replicating our results in further research.
